Joe is one of the most popular columnists for wine trade site The Buyer, writing on why millennials are a distraction, what makes a good wine story, why social media campaigns can be a waste of money, how to communicate better about wine, and on Lidl's controversial Prosecco campaign.
He also writes for wine trade journal Harpers, recently berating fellow journalists for "crowd sourcing" their columns and previously writing on neo-prohibitionists, wine education, and wine and young people.
Joe is regularly asked to contribute as an expert commentator in newspapers and magazines. Here he is on how to pretend to be a wine expert quickly in The Independent.
Joe wrote a weekly column for The Herald newspaper for fourteen years and his columns are all archived online. A couple of random ones are here and here.
